VJD METHOD

VJ method is a method of calculating target scores in rain affected matches limited over matches. Its basically an alternative to DLS method. VJD method is devised by a civil engineer from Kerala, V Jayadevan.

TRIALS
VJD method was used in Indian Cricket League (ICL). Its been used in Tamil Nadu Premiere League (TNPL). In a recent devision A matches between India and South Africa saw the use of VJD method where India A beat South Africa A by 4 runs.
It was also considered for couple of IPL seasons but did not adopted at finally.

ICC’s TAKE
In 2012, ICC rejected the proposed system by v Jayadevan for VJD method. The committee said that there is not evidence of flaws in D/L method nor that VJD method could provide any improvement t it.
